BACKBURST Demo

The year is 21XX. 

Earth is experiencing an era of peace unprecedented in human history. However, when a mechanical force from space threatens the planet and no weapons currently remain to handle it, an unorthodox fighter ship is hastily created to combat the threat.

The catch? Its weapons system and thrusters are one and the same.

BACKBURST is an arcade-style shoot-em'-up only for the Playdate with a unique twist: the way you move is also the way you shoot. And with physics like you're gliding around a field of asteroids, you'll need to keep your eyes peeled for threats from all angles. 

You can leverage yourself with the Burst mechanic. Propel yourself forward and become briefly invincible, dealing massive damage in your wake. Use it offensively or defensively, whether you need to dispatch a group of enemies or make a quick escape.

Push yourself to get the best score! Be bold in the face of danger! But most importantly: every mistake is an opportunity to learn!

What the demo has:

• 2 quick, action-packed stages
• 1 playable ship
• In-game guide for controls and mechanics

What to expect from the full release:

• Full Original Mode featuring 5(ish) stages total
• Extra Mode, a harder version of the original game featuring more aggressive enemies, modified enemy patterns, and something... extra
• Time Rush, a time attack mode featuring multiple stages remixed into one and new mechanics
  
• Practice Mode, to try out individual stages
• 2nd playable ship
  
• Records, to check your previous high scores
